What to do after all is said and done!
Valentine’s Day, also called St. Valentine’s Day, holiday (February 14) when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. Today, many lovers will exchange pleasantries, take each other for dinner, enjoy a late night movie and some flowers in the air. Men will also plan for a whole day imaginary affair christened “Men’s conference”.
Origin of Valentine’s Day
Given their similarities, it has been suggested that the holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery. At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I forbid the celebration of Lupercalia and is sometimes attributed with replacing it with St. Valentine’s Day, but the true origin of the holiday is vague at best. Valentine’s Day did not come to be celebrated as a day of romance until about the 14th century.
Although there were several Christian martyrs named Valentine, the day may have taken its name from a priest who was martyred about 270 CE by the emperor Claudius II Gothicus. According to legend, the priest signed a letter “from your Valentine” to his jailer’s daughter, whom he had befriended and, by some accounts, healed from blindness.
Now today is lover’s day. The following are some of the simple cost effective effective things to do with your partner on Valentine’s Day.

1. Plan a coffee date
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday, which is, unfortunately, not the most romantic day of the week. This is because, between work and getting kids where they need to go, you may need to sneak in a few romantic breaks in your day. Start off strong with a special coffee date for two.
2. Take a bike ride
If you’re fortunate enough to live somewhere with warm weather in February, head outside for a couple’s bike ride. It makes a great low-pressure idea for those who are newly dating and still getting to know each other.
3. Plan a photo shoot
When was the last time you had your picture taken, just the two of you? For a lot of couples, it only happens on vacations (or even at their wedding!). Therefore hiring a photographer, or, for an inexpensive option, having a friend or even one of your kids take a few casual snapshots is a bonus. A selfie stick will do in a pinch! Then (and this is the most important part), actually print them out and display them in your home. Make this a new Valentine’s Day tradition.
4. Dinner date
Take each other for dinner at a cool downtown restaurant. Furthermore, unwind with a glass of wine and some toasting. Make it a romantic sit down for two as you whisper love to each other.
5. Play a game
When was the last time you played a game with just the two of you? Pick a favourite from the closet, or try a new Valentine’s Day game for adults or some chess, darts scrabble in the house.
6. Make playlists for each other
Spend some time putting together playlists for each other on your favorite streaming service. Then proceed to choose Valentine’s Day song that spark memories of your relationship or simply tunes you know your significant other will love. Then pour some wine, turn on the music, and reminisce. It’s a gift you’ll listen to year-round.
7. Volunteer together
One of the best ways to spend the day together is to choose a cause you’re both passionate about and sign up to volunteer—you’ll do some good for others and yourself, as volunteering can make you feel more connected to each other and the community.
8. Stargazing
You don’t need a telescope to set up a stargazing date. Just head to your own backyard with a warm, outdoor blanket and use a stargazing app to help identify constellations in the night sky.
9. Make a scrapbook of your relationship
Even partners who aren’t so into crafts will get a kick out of this fun activity. Gather up photos of your relationship, old ticket stubs, and meaningful receipts, and make a beautiful book that you’ll both treasure!
